Suspended Hexagonal Microstrip Antennas for Circular Polarization

Suspended hexagonal microstrip antenna with a single coaxial feed has been proposed for circular polarization. The configuration has been realized by inserting perturbations along two opposite sides of the suspended hexagonal microstrip antenna. The broad bandwidth of 70 MHz has been obtained corresponding to VSWR < 2 and 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth of 16.2 MHz has been achieved for the suspended antenna which is designed at 915 MHz. Theoretical results have been validated with experiments.
